Marcel Charles Coard – ladys desk

Small desk or dressing table in Indian rosewood with a tray covered with a radiating marquetry of natural shagreen. Opening in the belt by a large drawer and two drawers in the bottom of the boxes. The tray opens with two flaps on two deep boxes hidden in the tray by false drawers. The set rests on four sheath feet with folded edges and sabotaged with bronze with a medal patina. Handles grip bronze patina medal. Stamped CP and numbered “7839”. Circa 1920.

The workshop CHANAUX and PELLETIER, cabinetmakers and collaborators of many prestigious designers of the time such as Emiles Jacques Ruhlmann, Jean Michel Frank, André Groult and of course Marcel Charles COARD.
