E. Eyre de Lanux – Console

Rare rectangular console in pine, originally sheathed in natural waxed cork . four flat legs in pine joined by a protruding plate in ebonised mahogany. Circa 1927.

His creations began to be noticed in the early 1920s and were often exhibited with those of designers Eileen Gray and Jean-Michel Frank. She shared a workshop with Evelyn Wyld, rue Visconti. Despite abundant creativity, luxurious furniture sometimes lacquered or sheathed in innovative materials, the crisis of 1929 interrupted her career and in 1935 she gave up her vocation as a decorator.
